A beautiful old building very near to the walking street weekend market, but in a quiet location. We really loved the riverside location, always something happening in water, whether it’s the locals swimming, a kingfisher diving or a man setting out a fishing net while floating on a nest of empty plastic containers! The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable. The air con was v effective and kept us cool in the intense heat at midday. The bathroom was basic but functional and had everything needed. As the building is old and made of wood, you are very able to hear your neighbours, but everyone was considerate of everyone else. We had the best breakfast every morning! The porridge with seared fruits was divine and the home made jams delicious. The care that was taken to prepare each dish fresh was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lampang.

The Riverside is a quaint little guesthouse with a beautiful view located on the river. Everything I read about it was true. Every corner of the guesthouse has something to look at. All the staff were so nice and couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. This is a place you feel you could leave your door unlocked and not worry. Just remember to book early as I know people were being turned away due to a full booking.

The location in the old town of Lampang is excellent. You can just wander out and be transported back 100 years. People shout “hello, welcome” from passing scooters and older people stop you in the street for a chat. And the old town is beautiful. The Riverside Guest House is perfectly in tune with this. A classic teak building with a lovely terrace overlooking the river. I had a room with a fan rather than A/C and it was perfectly comfortable. They operate an honour bar system where you record what drinks you have taken from the fridge. There are very few foreign tourists in Lampang, so if you want to know what northern Thailand was like at the beginning of the Twentieth Century, come here.

The Riverside Guesthouse is well-located for the (small number of) tourist restaurants in Lampang. It comprises a set of traditional wooden buildings, which creates a lovely atmosphere but limits what the hotel is able to do in terms of modern comforts. The gardens are lovely, with lots of shady spots to sit and chill. It’s riverfront location makes it all very attractive. The breakfasts were tasty and well-done, served on the terrace with a good view of the river. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and spoke good English.

Like: on river; in an old Lanna style home; breakfast provided beginning at 7 am: choices: porridge, yoghurt with fruit, French toast, eggs, omelette, toast; ceiling fan; lamp on each side of bed; electric outlets on each side of bed; simple furniture that matches the style of the hotel; floor to ceiling windows that face river; balcony with 2 chairs and a table; short walk to weekend market; hotel gave great recommendation for renting a motorbike - kind people, small business; had place to park rented motorbike

This is our second time staying here. This guest house is a gem, traditional Thail style with a lot of characters, truly by the river, very peaceful. The whole setting is pretty, very relaxing to hang around in the front garden area by the water......too much to mention, definitely worth staying there and finding it out yourself. One more thing needs to mention, they prepared their breakfast sincerely, few different choices, we like it all.

We stayed in "Superior Triple Room with River View" and on the top floor so we had a balcony overlooking the river. The location of this guesthouse (which is close to town) and the setting of the river are the highlights. The room is simple but charming. You could spend a lot of time just chilling on the balcony. There is an honour system for drinks in the communal area (which overlooks the river) - you can take a beer from the fridge and fill out a bit of paper to record what you've had, then pay when you checkout at the end of your stay - we really liked that system and it added to the relaxed and hassle-free vibe of the place. The staff are hardworking, friendly, and helpful. A great base to explore beautiful Lampang from.

Communication was very strong with this hotel. It was easy to communicate with the hotel before my stay about arrival. They give good instructions and a very detailed map of the city with so much helpful information - thank you! On arrival I received a friendly welcome from Lorenza. While I was there they were proactive in checking I was having a good stay. All members of staff I interacted with were friendly. When I asked about my onward journey, the staff were helpful with making sure I knew how to get where I was going next. My room was like the pictures. The bed and pillow were comfortable. The room and bathroom were both very well cleaned each day. There was soap and shampoo in the bathroom. All of the bed linens and towels smelled nice and fresh. Communal areas were very clean and well-organised. There are plenty of sweet and savoury options available for breakfast. The riverside terrace is of course the best part - such a lovely place to sit at any time of the day or evening. I loved looking at the details and character of the decor and garden all around the house. It was really nice that the guesthouse is in one of the most characterful streets of the city - such a nice lane to walk along, then further along the river too. As for modern amenities, Wifi was good throughout the property. I was only able to stay two nights but I thought it was fair value for a central location, and I liked the staff a lot. The accommodation is both well planned and well managed. They take care of every detail to make the most comfortable stay they can in a charming historic property. Thank you all for your hard work. I enjoyed my stay in Lampang!

The guest rooms are dotted around the reception in authentic Northern Thai style buildings. I had a room overlooking the river with a balcony which was perfect. Breakfast offering is very good. The staff are very friendly, the owner being fluent in English, Thai and Italian. A great last minute find!

A beautiful traditional thaï house at the Riverside. Il is situated just at the beginning of the old town of Lampang and in the middle of a wonderful garden. It's a rather quiet place and has a nice terrace for relaxing. The café offers some home made snacking and beverage any time which is practical. The rooms are old style, not enough facilities to put your stuff but it's clean. There's no separation for the shower so there's some water everywhere in the bathroom. The breakfast is good but with a restrained choice and not much diversity (which is normal for a homestay). The staff is very nice and helpful. Highly recommended if you're searching for a B&B in Lampang!!!
